Jim Butler Maserati

Feb 12, 2021

Last week in Paris, the Festival Automobile international live-streamed their yearly gathering, an event that provides the car-loving masses with examples of some of the world’s best-looking and highest-performing vehicles. The winner of the “Most Beautiful Car” category was our Italian purebred Maserati MC20, sporting a V6 powertrain that wasn’t shared in regards to technology this time around from our close friends at Ferrari. The 2.9-liter twin-turbo on-board cranks out 630 horsepower and 538 lb-ft of torque, it stunningly reaches the 60 mph mark in just 2.9 seconds.

Boasting an absolutely amazing outer shell and a top speed of 203 mph, the MC20’s public reveal also won the title of World’s Best Event. 500 very special guests were hand-picked and exclusively invited to Modena last fall where an amazing production at this historic landmark incorporated augmented reality and an extra-large projection screen of nearly 7,000 feet. The next day, the entire downtown of Modena and the landmark Viale Ciro Menotti manufacturing plant were decorated in special graphics to celebrate the history of our monumental and unique brand.

This was a huge win, as the International Festival of Events and Live Communication judged nearly every single live awards ceremony that took place last year while we pulled out all the stops for this memorable milestone in our history. Weighing just 3,307 lbs, the power-to-weight ratio is best-in-class, and everywhere you look on the MC20 there is inspiration drawn from our long touring history. There are butterfly doors that are not present on the MC12, adding an extra touch of ergonomics and aerodynamics that were perfected during over 2,000 hours spent in the Dallara Wind Tunnel. Resulting in a historic and memorable creation with a drag coefficient under 0.38, every last detail has been scrutinized to perfect the connection the driver has to the car.

Once inside and ready to take on the road in this grand leap towards the future we will offer at Jim Butler Maserati of St Louis, all of the functions necessary for an exhilarating drive are much closer to reach than other “budget-minded supercar” builds such as the new mid-engined C8 Corvette. There is one ten-inch screen for the instruments and other for the multimedia, wireless smartphone charger, carbon fiber center console, and an on-board connection activated at all times for navigation, Alexa, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.

The title-winner of the world’s most gorgeous car will be eventually available in both coupe and convertible, and we will stand by our eco-conscious promise to eventually see an MC20 supercar. Pushing the boundaries of time was always the dominating idea with the MC20, which was designed to be feather light while boasting power to render it lightning-fast. It was more than a year ago already that marked the first series of spy shots published depicting a highly-modified Alfa Romeo 4C test mule, with a much wider track: the unique stories that will be told after each heart-pounding lap in the MC20 will surely keep well-deserved space in your virtual performance log for many inspiring and adventure-rich laps during ownership!
