The Red Dot Awards takes place every year in Germany, fulfilling the task of selecting the most innovative and exquisite-looking products worldwide for over 60 years. 50 international experts choose exemplary products in almost 50 categories, from interior furnishings to the most exciting cars ever built. We had long known here at Jim Butler Maserati of St Louis that the MC20’s arrival was meant to thoroughly signify and represent a new era for our brand, and these particular awards bestowed upon the MC20 the coveted title of “Best of the Best”.

The entire team worked hard and diligently on this project, and the end result was a car that perfectly opens a new chapter in Masarati’s long-standing history. A few of the elements that will be noticed at first sight regarding the MC20 are its perfect mix of sporting domination and visual elegance, with the finished product beginning a new chapter of Earth-conscious and high-performing autos. Many experts at first glance will notice the very unique aerodynamics and design, as every detail that makes a car modern and beautiful has been considered during rendering and development.

Constructed at the flagship Modena plant and developed by the legendary Innovation Lab, the defining personality of the MC20 has deep and boisterous Italian roots. The brand-new “Nettuno” engine delivers up to 60 mph in under 2.9 seconds and reaches a startling top speed of 202 mph. The engine that lives up to every bit of its monumental hype is designed and built entirely by Maserati and put to use a pre-chamber combustion technology that is sourced directly from the fiercely performance-tuned Formula 1 family.

The MC20 carries with it the weight of the supreme contender within our very own lineup, and will undoubtedly be heralded by the most experienced drivers in the world as an instant success. Offered as a two-seater coupe or convertible with a cabin that has a focus on the driver, we excitedly teamed up with primo motorsport engineering company Dallara to offer their expert input regarding the carbon-fiber structure with aluminum subframes for the powertrain and suspension. Accomplishing this has minimized the weight of the M20, resulting in great success in flat-out track performance.

Every model comes with four driving modes, and among them is one that has been meticulously dedicated to driving in wet conditions. Helping with the issue of visibility behind you, there is a digital rear-view mirror with a rear-facing camera to feed an image situated ideally to the frameless inside rear window. The key safety features that we have been notified the MC20 will include are standard automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, standard lane-departure warning lane-keeping assist, and available adaptive cruise control.
