MCPURA

The 2026 Maserati MCPURA is more than a name; it’s a statement of performance, design, and legacy. This new evolution of Maserati’s celebrated mid-engine platform carries forward everything that made the MC20 a landmark for the brand, while adding a distinct sense of style and exclusivity.

Inspired by Maserati’s GT2 Stradale race car, the MCPURA receives reimagined front and rear fascia designs, a striking new signature color called AI Aqua Rainbow, and an interior that embraces the tactile luxury of Alcantara. It also introduces a redesigned steering wheel, bringing the driver closer to the experience of precision driving our brand is known for here at Jim Butler Maserati of St. Louis.

The original MC20 marked Maserati’s triumphant return to the world of mid-engine performance cars, a lineage that traces back to the iconic Merak of the 1970s. The MCPURA continues that journey, combining the artistry of Italian design with cutting-edge engineering. Whether configured as a sleek coupe or the open-air Cielo convertible, this car captures the perfect balance between high-performance athleticism and refined grand touring comfort.

The Heart of the MCPURA

Powering the MCPURA is Maserati’s extraordinary 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged Nettuno V6. This handcrafted engine is a marvel of technology, featuring a dry-sump lubrication system and producing an impressive 621 horsepower and 538 lb-ft of torque. The power flows through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission that delivers lightning-quick gear changes and a seamless rush of acceleration. This configuration channels its performance directly to the rear wheels, giving drivers a sense of pure connection to the road.

The lightweight carbon-fiber monocoque chassis is the foundation of the MCPURA’s agility and strength. Aluminum subframes at the front and rear secure the suspension, steering components, and the powertrain, while keeping weight low and rigidity high. Maserati’s team designed the structure to accommodate the convertible’s retractable glass roof, ensuring minimal weight difference between coupe and Cielo. The Cielo adds just 259 pounds over the coupe, an impressive feat that preserves balance and responsiveness.

Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes and a sophisticated multilink suspension system give the MCPURA the stopping power and cornering precision that define world-class supercars. The Cielo’s suspension tuning has been slightly adjusted to maintain handling consistency with the roof mechanism’s added mass, while the electronic differential calibration optimizes stability and smooth steering input.

Intelligent Drive Modes

The MCPURA adapts to the driver’s intent through four carefully tuned drive modes: Wet, GT, Sport, and Corsa. Each mode fine-tunes the throttle response, transmission behavior, and suspension stiffness for the perfect blend of comfort and control. A press and hold of the center rotary controller engages Corsa mode, designed for track-level performance. Suspension firmness can be toggled between soft, medium, and firm depending on the chosen drive mode, offering flexibility from daily comfort to full dynamic precision.

A simple swipe across the glass surface of the controller adjusts these settings. A single button shifts between automatic and manual transmission modes. This streamlined approach creates an intuitive cockpit that feels modern, minimalistic, and entirely focused on the driver.

A Cockpit Crafted for Purity

Inside, the MCPURA’s interior expresses the spirit of Italian craftsmanship in its purest form. Alcantara covers nearly every surface, including the seats, dashboard, and door panels. This material not only reduces glare but also saves weight and heightens the tactile experience. Laser-cut detailing reveals contrasting hues beneath the surface, adding visual intrigue without distraction.

A redesigned steering wheel features a flattened top for improved forward visibility, keeping the digital instrument cluster fully in view. The minimalist center console places the essentials within easy reach: controls for drive selection, window operation, and audio adjustment, as well as the rotary drive-mode selector. This uncluttered layout emphasizes simplicity and control, both hallmarks of Maserati’s driver-centric philosophy.

The retractable glass roof opens or closes in 12 seconds, transforming the MCPURA from coupe to open grand tourer seamlessly. Every element of this system is engineered for balance, precision, and long-term reliability, another reflection of Maserati’s commitment to excellence.

A Supercar That Thrills

On the road, the MCPURA delivers a breathtaking experience. Maserati estimates a 0–60 mph sprint in under three seconds, with a top speed exceeding 200 mph. Those numbers only hint at the sensation of acceleration the car provides. The Nettuno engine’s power delivery is smooth, linear, and urgent, producing an unmistakable sound that intensifies as the revs climb.

Thanks to the dual-clutch transmission’s quick reflexes and the chassis’ exceptional balance, the MCPURA feels precise yet forgiving, equally at home carving through a winding back road or cruising on a grand tour. The steering is crisp and communicative, and the car’s composure through corners showcases its race-bred DNA.

Maserati designed this supercar not only for the racetrack but for real-world driving pleasure. Its adjustable suspension, refined interior, and intelligent traction systems make it one of the few mid-engine exotics capable of delivering everyday usability without sacrificing performance.

The Essence of Italian Engineering

Every MCPURA is built by hand at Maserati’s historic factory on Viale Ciro Menotti in Modena, Italy, a site that has produced Maseratis for over eight decades. Limited annual production ensures exclusivity, allowing each car to receive the meticulous attention to detail that defines Italian craftsmanship.

The name “MCPURA” reflects more than just its lineage. It signals a dedication to pure driving: an authentic connection between car, driver, and road. Maserati has confirmed that the Nettuno V6 will remain in production well into the next decade. This ensures that this era of exhilarating internal combustion continues to thrive even as the automotive world evolves.

From Modena to Missouri: The Maserati Spirit Lives On

The MCPURA embodies the best of both worlds: timeless Italian design and advanced modern engineering. From its carbon-fiber core to its Alcantara-lined cockpit, every element of this vehicle serves a purpose: to create an unforgettable driving experience. It represents the essence of Maserati: power, beauty, and purity, all working together in harmony.

For St. Louis enthusiasts seeking something truly special, the 2026 Maserati MCPURA delivers more than performance; it delivers presence. Whether parked in the valet line or driving down a highway, it’s a symbol of refined passion and engineering mastery. This is not simply a car. It is a continuation of a legacy that began in Modena and continues today, redefined for a new generation of driving purists.
